The result of such formation is that the arteries start to thicken and less blood is able to flow through them. Such an occurrence is referred to as atherosclerosis. This is directly linked with heart disease since lower levels of blood flow can result in a heart attack.
HDL carries about one third to one fourth of the blood cholesterol and is referred to by medical experts as good cholesterol. The reason is that HDL removes plaque from the arteries and therefore it slows down their formation.
It is therefore necessary to keep a check on the levels of LDL and maintain high levels of HDL in the body to avoid heart disease. There are a number of ways in which this can be achieved. Foods that are rich in trans fats, like meat, egg yolk and dairy products increase the levels of cholesterol in the body. This problem is further accentuated by the production of cholesterol inside the body itself.
The human liver produces about all the cholesterol the body requires so any excess cholesterol intake proves to be an excess. Since foods which are rich in saturated fats lead to an excess in the amount of LDL cholesterol as well, it is necessary to keep a check on them. Physical activity is an effective way of increasing HDL levels.

Bhakti Yoga differs from other types of Yoga, by virtue of the fact that it can be cultivated as a part of life and does not require any special efforts. Why do we lose our hair?

There are various factors responsible for our hair loss.
  • The mechanical reason for losing one’s hair is, for example, the hair style, like: a pony tail or a bob. Such hairstyles make the hair to be pressed too much. In such cases you should simply consider changing your hairstyle. If you change it early enough, your hair will grow up again completely. However, if you wait for too long, your hair loss may remain because of the disappearance of your hair follicles.
  • Falling out of hair happens also for various toxic reasons, mainly if a body gets intoxicated with arsenic (As), thallium (Tl) or mercury ((Hg). In case of talasemia there are some characteristic changes in the hair structure which can be observed under the microscope. Alopecia development appears about two weeks after taking the toxin in, and eventually hair loss is almost complete. However hair usually grows again within following six to eight weeks. In cases of body intoxication, first of all a patient is given an antidote to save his/her life.
  • Exceeding hair loss during and after contagious diseases is caused mainly by high body temperature and, in addition, some toxic factors and food deficiency which may appear a disease is developing. Exceeding hair loss would usually appear between 2 and 4 month after the fever is gone. Hair grows back on its own accord. As body reinforcement, some vitamins and minerals are also given to patients. People who suffer from syphilis also deal with hair loss, which may be extensive or rather focal in its character. Of course, this type of disease needs specific kind of treatment which helps in growing hair again, too.

  • Hair loss is also connected with some skin diseases and scalp diseases. For example, in mycosis baldness would usually appear in the type of hairless inflammatory focus (es). The treatment in such cases means giving the patient oral and local antimycotic remedies.

How to Take Care of Normal Skin

Basic care includes washing your face twice a day; once in the morning and again before you go to bed. You should use a gentle cleanser that won’t irritate your skin. Toners are refreshing for your skin but aren’t completely necessary for your skin type. Always avoid toners that have alcohol as an ingredient, because they dry the skin. Applying a moisturizer will help keep your skin hydrated. Try to choose a moisturizer that has a sun block of at least SPF 15.
Weekly masks can help your skin deal with the environment, whether you live in a very dry area or in a city with a great deal of pollution. Hydrating masks and purifying masks can help keep your skin healthy and can be used in rotation if preferred. Another important part of your routine should be to exfoliate once or twice a week, which will help clear your face of dead skin cells and allow the healthy skin to breathe easier. However, take care not to over-exfoliate, as this can cause lasting damage.
